Robinson to compete in All-star football challenge

AUSTIN,Texas -- Senior Texas Longhorns LB Keenan Robinson will be one of 12 college football standouts competing in the 14th annual All-Star Football Challenge on Thursday, Feb. 2. The two-hour live skills challenge will air on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and will have encore airings at 3:30 p.m. CT on Feb. 12 and Feb. 26 on ESPN.
Robinson was a second-team All-Big 12 pick this year after recording 106 total tackles (53 solo), including 10 tackles for loss and a sack. He also added 13 quarterback hurries, seven pass breakups, two caused fumbles and recorded a safety. He was named the Defensive MVP of the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl after tallying 10 tackles, including two tackles for loss. The three-year starter at outside linebacker appeared in 51 games for the Longhorns, posting 317 career tackles (172 solo), including 25 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks to go along with 14 quarterback hurries, two interceptions, three forced fumbles and 14 pass breakups.
Robinson was a 2011 Butkus Award semifinalist and was on the watch lists of the Bednarik Award, Nagurski Trophy and the Lombardi Trophy.
Individual events in the 2012 All-Star Football Challenge include: QB Scramble, Obstacle Course, Wide Receiver Hands Competition and the Lineman Challenge. Participants will then be divided into Offensive and Defensive Team Competitions. To conclude the program, the players will be divided into two teams for a final Full Team Competition.
Last year in the Football Challenge, former Longhorn DE Sam Acho was the top performer as he placed first in each of the three events in which he competed. In 2010, former Longhorn WR Jordan Shipley won one of three receiver contests and former K Hunter Lawrence finished second among kickers.
