- Anderson's Total Effort ... Despite a 75-71 loss at Texas Tech (Jan. 28), senior guard Yvonne Anderson put forth a season-high 40 minutes of offense and defense in Lubbock. She scored 18 points while connecting on a season-high eight FGs. On the defensive end, Anderson pulled down five rebounds, dished out seven assists and collected two steals.
- Bass Provides Spark Off Bench ... Sophomore guard Chelsea Bass matched her season-high with 13 points at Texas Tech and was also a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Bass has reached double-figure scoring five times this season and leads UT's bench with 7.8 ppg in conference games.
- Making a Comeback ... Texas battled back from Texas Tech's 15-point lead (8:25 remaining in the first half) to mark its biggest deficit overcome of the season. The Longhorns last overcame California's 14-point lead on Nov. 26, 2011.
- Guards Doing it All ... Guards Yvonne Anderson, Chelsea Bass and Chassidy Fussell are leading Texas' scoring and rebounding efforts over the last two games. Fussell and Anderson are averaging 20.5 and 18.0 ppg, while Bass is contributing 10.0. Anderson is pulling down a team-leading 5.5 rpg while Fussell is averaging 5.0.

Wednesday's contest marks the 22nd meeting between Texas and Kansas State, with the Longhorns holding a 12-9 advantage in the all-time series. Flashback: at Kansas State (Feb. 9, 2011)
Texas won its fifth-straight Big 12 Conference game with a 69-59 victory at Kansas State. Chassidy Fussell led the Longhorns with a game-high 19 points en route to snapping the Wildcats' five-game conference win streak and perfect season at Bramlage Coliseum. Texas jumped out to a quick start in the first half after back-to-back 3-point baskets by Kathleen Nash and Fussell for a 16-9 lead with 13:55 remaining. UT used an 8-0 run that included four points from Yvonne Anderson to climb to its largest lead, 36-23. The Longhorns remained scoreless through the remaining six minutes of the half while the Wildcats inched within five, 36-31. Kristen Nash was fouled on a second-chance attempt with 0.3 left and made both shots to send Texas into the locker room with a 38-31 halftime advantage. The second half began much like the first for the Longhorns as they scored eight-straight points for a 46-34 lead - their second double-digit lead of the game - in the first four minutes. Texas never led again by any less than eight points down the stretch.
Last Time Out: At No. 21/23 Texas Tech (Jan. 28, 2012)
Jordan Barncastle scored 19 points, including a key three-point play with 24 seconds left, to help No. 21 Texas Tech end a five-game skid with a 75-71 victory over Texas. Texas led for just the second time in the game after free throws by Ashleigh Fontenette made it 71-70 with 48 seconds to play. Barncastle's offensive rebound and put back moments later gave the Lady Raiders the lead again, and a corner three by Texas' Chassidy Fussell bounced off the side of the backboard with 9 seconds left. Fussell scored 19 for Texas.
Welcome Back, Kamie
Texas is welcoming back one of it's own in Wednesday's contest - Kansas State Associate Head Coach Kamie Ethridge. During her playing career at Texas, Ethridge and the Longhorns won the 1986 national championship and made two NCAA Elite Eight appearances and one trip to the Sweet Sixteen. She received just about every national award possible. A two-time Kodak All-American, Ethridge was honored with the Wade Trophy and the Honda Broderick Cup, awarded to the top female student-athlete in the country each year. The final jewel in her awards crown was the Frances Pomeroy Naismith Player of the Year Award, presented annually to the nation's top senior collegian under 5-foot-6 in height. The University of Texas graduate led the Longhorns to the 1986 national title game, where she garnered Most Valuable Player honors. A team captain, Ethridge and the Longhorns put together a 34-0 record that season, the first perfect season in NCAA Division I history.
