Men's Basketball falls to Chaminade in EA SPORTS Maui Invitational, 86-73

LAHAINA, Hawai'i -- De'Andre Haskins scored 32 points to lead Chaminade to an 86-73 upset of Texas on Monday night at Lahaina Civic Center in the quarterfinal of the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational.
Texas jumped out to an 8-0 lead in the first 5:31 of the first half, but the Silverswords rallied to take a 31-27 lead into halftime. In the second half, Haskins scored 27 of his 32 total points as Chaminade iced the game by shooting 25-of-28 at the free throw line.
The Longhorns shot 46.4 percent from the field to the Silverswords' 36.8 percent shooting.
Freshman guard Javan Felix led Texas (2-1) with 17 points and five assists. Sophomore guard Sheldon McClellan went 7-for-7 at the free throw line to improve his season percentage to 93.5 (29- 31).
The win was Chaminade's seventh at the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational since the tournament started in 1984. Texas is 7-4 in its fourth appearance in the invitational.
Texas plays its second game in the EA SPORTS Maui Invitational on Tuesday at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
