Haley Eckerman named COBRA Magazine National Player of the Year

Texas Volleyball sophomore outside hitter Haley Eckerman (Waterloo, Iowa) was named 2012 COBRA Magazine National Player of the Year after leading the Longhorns to a 29-4 overall record and the 2012 national championship. Eckerman led Texas with 504 kills (4.38 kps) with 42 aces (0.37 saps), 234 digs (2.03 dps), 47 blocks (0.41 bps) and 575.0 points (5.00 pps).
She was named Big 12 Player of the Year and earned 2012 AVCA All-America first team honors.
Eckerman posted 12 kills and five digs with a .400 hitting percentage as the Longhorns earned their third national title in program history with the 3-0 sweep on Dec. 15 against Oregon in Louisville, Ky.
