AMES, Iowa - It was a tale of two halves as the Texas Women's Basketball team fell to Iowa State, 71-56, on Saturday afternoon at the Hilton Coliseum. The Longhorns took a four-point lead into halftime but were outscored 44-29 in the second stanza.
UT suffered its third loss in as many games and has dropped four of its last five.
Yvonne Anderson led Texas with 19 points, including the Longhorns' first 12 of the game. Ashleigh Fontenette also recorded double figures for UT, finishing with 15.
The Cyclones' Chelsea Poppens scored 27 points to lead all scorers, 20 of which came in the second half. Lauren Mansfield added 11 assists.
UT will next take on the Kansas Jayhawks in Lawrence on Wednesday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Central.
