Horns 15th in preseason Coaches Poll

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas was ranked 15th in the USA Today Sports Coaches Poll, which was released Thursday.

The Longhorns, who welcome back 16 offensive and defensive starters from last year's 8-5 squad, are one of six Big 12 Conference teams represented in the preseason poll.

LSU was voted No. 1, Alabama second and USC third.

Oklahoma was picked fourth and West Virginia 11th. TCU (17th), Oklahoma State (19th) and Kansas State (21st) were the remaining Big 12 teams in the poll.

Texas opens preseason practice Monday and will face Wyoming on Saturday, Sept. 1 in the season opener.
