Men's Tennis season commences with strong performances

Olympia Fields Country Club Invitational
CHICAGO - The Longhorns opened up the 2012 fall season on Friday by going 4-0 in doubles competition and 2-2 in singles competition at the Olympia Fields Country Club Invitational.
The eighth-ranked doubles team of senior Chris Camillone and junior David Holiner defeated Notre Dame's Greg Andrews and Spencer Talmadge, 8-5, in the first round of doubles play, followed by an 8-2 victory over the Irish's Alex Lawson and Billy Pecor in round two.
Senior Ben Chen and senior Alex Hilliard also teamed up for two doubles victories in the first and second rounds, defeating Cal's Campbell Johnson and Chase Melton, 8-4, and Illinois' Tim Kopinski and Alex Jesse, 8-5.
In singles play, No. 99 Holiner defeated No. 118 Farris Gosea (Illinois) in the only matchup of nationally-ranked opponents during the first day of the event.
The Longhorns return to action on Saturday with two rounds of singles play.

MIDLAND, Texas - The Longhorns went 8-1 as all four players advanced to the round of 16 of the singles bracket on day one of the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational.
Sophomores Joey Swaysland and Jacoby Lewis advanced in the doubles bracket.
