Tucker, Ivory-Ganja earn Big 12 recognition

Senior swimmer Samantha Tucker and junior diver Emma Ivory-Ganja earn athlete of the week mentions from the Big 12 Conference.
IRVING, Texas – The Big 12 Conference announced Wednesday the selections of Texas senior Samantha Tucker as the league's Women's Swimmer of the Week and UT junior Emma Ivory-Ganja as its Women's Diver of the Week.
Tucker (Austin, Texas) claimed the 200-yard freestyle against Texas A&M (Oct. 18) in 1 minute, 47.95 seconds, good for the 10th-fastest time in college swimming this season. The All-American notched runner-up finishes in the 50 and 200 freestyle events to help the Longhorns defeat North Carolina on Oct. 17.
Ivory-Ganja (The Woodlands, Texas), an All-America transfer from UCLA, won the three-meter event with 338.40 points at Texas A&M. Like Tucker, Ivory-Ganja added individual runner-up finishes (1-meter, 3-meter) to help Texas top the Tar Heels on Oct. 17.
Tucker and Ivory-Ganja collect their first career Big 12 swimmer and diver of the week awards.
Texas resumes fall competition on Friday, Oct 25 when it faces Indiana and Michigan in Bloomington, Ind.
