NOTES AT A GLANCE
• Texas begins its 40th season of Women's Basketball when it plays host to UTSA on Sunday. The Longhorns lead the series with UTSA, 3-0.
• Entering the 2013-14 season, Texas is the seventh-winningest program in NCAA Women's Basketball history with a 935-344 (.731) record through 39 seasons. Since joining the NCAA in 1977, Texas has an 897-329 (.732) record.
• UT is 29-10 (.744) in season openers and 35-4 (.897) in home openers. Under Karen Aston, Texas is 1-0 in both season and home openers.
• UT holds an all-time record of 414-97 (.810) against current NCAA Division I teams from the state of Texas.
• The Longhorns have opened the season at home in nine of the last 10 seasons.
• All five starters from the 2012-13 season return for the Longhorns (Celina Rodrigo, Empress Davenport, Chassidy Fussell, Nneka Enemkpali, Imani McGee-Stafford).
• Texas has an all-time home record of 470-93 (.835).
• Guard Chassidy Fussell has led the Longhorns in scoring in each of the last three seasons, entering her senior year with 1,405 career points (15.6 ppg).
• Sophomore Imani McGee-Stafford was named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Team and junior Nneka Enemkpali was named Honorable Mention Preseason All-Big 12. Last season the duo co-led UT in rebounding (9.4 rpg) and accounted for 26 double-doubles (13 each).
• Texas is receiving votes in the preseason Associated Press top 25. Big 12 coaches picked Texas fifth in the conference preseason poll.
• Texas adds five newcomers for the 2013-14 season -- guard Brianna Taylor, forward Nekia Jones, center Kelsey Lang, center Lilley Vander Zee and junior guard Krystle Henderson. Taylor, Jones and Lang are respectively ranked as the Nos. 46, 58 and 91 overall recruits in the class of 2013, according to ESPN.com. Henderson is a transfer from Trinity Valley CC, where she led the Cardinals to the 2013 NJCAA Division I title.
