Notes at a Glance • Texas meets Arkansas-Little Rock for the first time in program history on Wednesday night (7 p.m., Longhorn Network).
• Karen Aston lettered for two seasons at UALR and graduated from the school in 1987 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in physical education. Aston led the Trojans in scoring during her senior season with 11.1 points per game (278 total).
• Last week, Texas finished in second in the Reef Division of the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam with a 2-1 record, which included a 69-58 victory over No. 12/11 Texas A&M.
• Sophomore guard Brady Sanders was named to the Paradise Jam All-Tournament Team, averaging 11.3 points per game over three games.
• Through seven games this season, Texas has one of the best defenses in the nation. Among NCAA Division I teams, the Longhorns rank fourth in FG shooting defense (.299), ninth in scoring defense (52.9 ppg) and 12th in rebounding margin (+13.0).
• Freshman center Kelsey Lang started the first two games of her career at the Paradise Jam. In three games in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Lang averaged 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks while shooting 60.9 percent from the field (14-23 FG).
• Junior forward Nneka Enemkpai ranks second in the Big 12 Conference in rebounding (8.9 rpg) and leads Texas in scoring (13.3 ppg) this season.
• Senior guard Chassidy Fussell was named to the Naismith Trophy Early Season Watch List on Nov. 25. Fussell has led UT in scoring for three straight seasons and enters the week with 1,477 career points (15.2 ppg). The Troy, Tenn., native has scored 20 or more points in 31 of 96 career games played. In February, the list narrows to the top 30 and in March four finalists will be named to the final ballot.
