AUSTIN, Texas - No. 24 Texas (10-8) swept the doubles session and all six singles matches on its way to a 7-0 victory over Florida International Friday afternoon at UT's Penick-Allison Tennis Center.
Texas opened the match by claiming all three doubles contests to secure the doubles point. Junior Elizabeth Begley and senior Aeriel Ellis led off with an 8-1 win over Giulietta Boha and Magali Holt at second doubles. UT clinched the doubles point at the third slot, where sophomores Lina Padegimaite and Annat Rabinovich posted an 8-1 win over Michelle Sabado and Lotte Gras.
Texas completed the doubles sweep at the first position, as the 16th-ranked tandem of freshman Breaunna Addison and sophomore Noel Scott notched an 8-4 win over Carlotta Orlando and Aleksandra Trifunovic.
The Texas lead grew to 2-0 behind Padegimaite's 6-0, 6-0 win over Sabado at fifth singles. UT assumed a 3-0 cushion when the 50th-ranked Addison blanked Trifunovic at second singles. Texas clinched the match at fourth singles when Begley finished off Holt, 6-2, 6-1.
Scott staked Texas to a 5-0 lead with her 6-2, 6-0 win over Boha at third singles. Ellis registered her 10th dual-match win of the season and defeated Orlando by a 6-4, 6-1 count at first singles. Freshman Lana Groenvynck finished off the 7-0 Texas win with a 6-2, 6-2 win over FIU's Gras at sixth singles.

POST-MATCH COMMENTS
Texas head coach Patty Fendick-McCain
On freshman Breaunna Addison: She has gotten cleaner and cleaner in the last few matches. For her to be able to get out here every day and work on things during the week and have it go this smoothly on the weekend is great. I'm looking forward to seeing her in action tomorrow.
On how Friday's match prepares the team to face No. 15 Texas Tech on Saturday: It's great. From a tennis perspective it's great not having to run another practice. We talk all the time about putting into play what you want to have done. You can't go out and practice those big-point situations. It's better to be in a competitive situation, and obviously this provided that and they did great with that.
