Post-Game Quotes
Texas head coach Augie Garrido
On what he said to his players after the game: Basically to go home. No one can really do much to make it better than it is. (I told them to) come back tomorrow and start again.
On making a comeback, but losing by one run: I think we played with more spirit than in some other games, but we have mastered the art of losing the one-run game. We really have. It just repeats itself over and over again like a bad habit. We've done a lot. We've been really proactive.
On what he says to his team to keep them engaged: I don't think there is a lot that hasn't been said, but if you don't look for the opportunities are in tomorrow's game, then you're missing the point completely. Baseball is a game of opportunity, but it can be a devastating game like it has been for this team. We've done a lot.
On why his team loses in close games: They try too hard. They lose their rhythm and timing because they try too hard.
