• Efficient shooters: Texas is shooting 46.9 percent from the field after two games this season (60-128 FG). Posts Nneka Enemkpali (13.0 ppg; 70.6 FG%) and Kelsey Lang (13.0 ppg; 61.9 FG%) lead the Longhorns in both scoring and shooting accuracy.
• Orange paint: Texas is out-scoring its opponents 72-34 in the paint through two games. Dating back to last season (previous 36 games), the Longhorns have an average scoring margin in the paint of +13.2.
• Strong D: Texas is holding opponents to 33.9 percent shooting from the field with a +10.5 rebounding margin, both of which rank second in the Big 12.
• Atkins at the line: Freshman guard Ariel Atkins has made the first 10 free throws of her collegiate career, going 4-for-4 against UTSA and 6-for-6 at Stanford. The Preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year has started the first two games for UT, averaging 11.0 points per game.
• Increasing role for Davenport: In addition to being one of the best on-ball defenders on UT's roster, junior guard Empress Davenport is developing into a scoring role for the Longhorns. Davenport ranks third on the team with 11.5 ppg in 30 mpg, up from last season's 6.8 ppg in 23.0 mpg.
• Season opener: Texas opened the 2014-15 regular season with a 68-48 victory over UTSA on Nov. 15 in Austin. Sophomore center Kelsey Lang scored a team-high 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting. The Longhorns improved to 37-4 (.902) in home openers, including a 3-0 mark under coach Karen Aston.
• Big 12 favorites: The Longhorns were selected as the preseason favorite to win the 2014-15 Big 12 regular season title in a preseason vote of the league's head coaches. UT was also picked at the top of the preseason rankings in 2003-04 and 2004-05.
• Next up: Texas returns home to face UT-Pan American on Wednesday, Nov. 26 in Austin (Longhorn Network).
• Injury Report: Junior center Imani McGee-Stafford (leg), freshman forward Diani Akigbogun (knee), and sophomore forward Nekia Jones (illness) will not be active for Sunday's game.
