No. 5 Volleyball sweeps Texas Tech on the road

The Longhorns improve to 17-1 on the season and 9-1 in Big 12 play.
LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 5 Texas Volleyball (17-1, 9-1) defeated Texas Tech (15-8, 3-8), 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-13) on Wednesday night for its 14th-consecutive road win over a Big 12 Conference team.
Senior Haley Eckerman led the Longhorns in kills with 10 for her fifth-consecutive match with double-digit kills.
Sophomores Chiaka Ogbogu and Paulina Prieto Cerame had seven kills each, while juniors Amy Neal and Molly McCage added six and five, respectively.
Prieto Cerame and McCage also led the Longhorns in blocks with five each.
Freshman Cat McCoy led Texas in digs with 15, while Neal contributed 11.
Sophomores Chloe Collins and Nicole Dalton led the Longhorns in assists with 18 and 12.
As a team, UT hit .262 to TTU's .000 and out-blocked the Red Raiders, 8.0 to 2.0.
The first set was all Longhorns as they went on a 10-1 to take a 14-4 lead. From there, the Red Raiders only scored six more points to UT's 11 and Texas took the first set, 25-10.
In the second set, the Longhorns took an early 5-1 lead. Texas Tech made a few runs, but could not narrow the score to within three and Texas won the second set, 25-18.
The third set was more of the same as UT jumped out to a 7-1 lead and didn't look back. Texas took the set, 25-13 and the match, 3-0.
The Longhorns will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 7 to host No. 22 Kansas State in Austin, Texas. The game will be televised live on Longhorn Network.
