MATCH NOTES
• No. 5 Texas Men's Tennis (11-2) visits Fort Worth for a match with TCU (6-2) on Saturday at 1 p.m. Central.
• Saturday's match is classified as non-conference competition. The two teams meet again on April 5 in Austin during Big 12 Conference play.
Series
• Texas leads the all-time series with TCU, 26-17. The Longhorns have defeated the Horned Frogs in six consecutive matches, including a 4-3 win in Fort Worth last season as first-time Big 12 opponents.
Return to the Top 10
• Texas has been ranked the top 10 in three Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) polls this season, most-recently at No. 5.
• It is the Longhorns' first stay in the top 10 since Feb. 28, 2012.
• Texas' current No. 5 ranking is the highest team ranking since March 22, 2011, when the Longhorns were ranked No. 4.
• Mid-way through the season, Texas has four wins over top-25 opponents. Last season UT had a total of two wins over top-25 opponents.
On the Road
• The Longhorns are 3-1 in true road matches this season, including wins at current-No. 14 Vanderbilt and current-No. 26 Michigan. UT's lone road loss was against current-No. 7 Illinois.
Lone Star State success
• UT is currently the top-ranked team in the ITA Texas Region. TCU is ranked fifth among Texas schools, also behind Texas Tech, No. 13 Texas A&M and No. 8 Baylor.
• The Longhorns are 4-0 against schools from Texas this season.
Last time Out
• Texas earned a pair of 6-1 victories over UT Arlington and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a doubleheader at Penick-Allison Tennis Center last Sunday, Feb. 23. The Longhorns are a combined 18-0 against UT Arlington and A&M-Corpus Christi.
• The Longhorns finished the ITA National Team Indoor Championship with a 2-1 record, including wins over No. 4 Georgia in the first round and No. 11 California in the consolation. Eventual champion and current top-ranked Ohio State edged Texas in the quarterfinals, 4-2. It was UT's first return to the ITA National Indoors since 2012.
• Junior Søren Hess-Olesen was named to the ITA All-Tournament Team at the No. 1 singles position for his efforts at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
Singles Summary
• During dual match play this season, Texas holds a combined 54-16 (.771) record in singles.
• The Longhorns boast three ranked players and five players with 15 overall wins or more -- No. 31 Søren Hess-Olesen (17-5, 8-1 dual), No. 60 George Goldhoff (17-10, 6-5), No. 22 Lloyd Glasspool (18-7, 9-2), Adrien Berkowicz (18-5, 8-2) and Nick Naumann (16-6, 10-2).
