No. 12 Alabama defeats No. 17 Women's Tennis, 4-1

Sophomore Breaunna Addison rallies for three-set victory.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 12 Alabama (4-1) topped No. 17 Texas (3-3) by a 4-1 count Saturday evening in the consolation bracket of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
Texas led off the doubles session with a win at the second position, as Elizabeth Begley and Neda Koprcina defeated Alabama's Mary Anne Daines and Danielle Spielmann, 6-2. The Crimson Tide won the remaining matches at the first and third positions to win the doubles point.
The Crimson Tide pushed its lead to 2-0 behind a 6-4, 6-0 win from Maya Jansen over UT's Begley at third singles. Alabama's Luicelena Perez defeated UT's Lina Padegimaite in straight sets at No. 6 before Breaunna Addison put Texas on the board with a 3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-6) win over the Tide's Daines at first singles.
The remaining three singles matches progressed to third-set super-tiebreakers in lieu of full third sets. UT's Ratnika Batra pushed her match at No. 2 to a super-tiebreaker after dropping the first set and winning the second set, 7-5. Texas' Pippa Horn extended her match to a super-tiebreaker after dropping her first set to Alabama's Emily Zabor at fifth singles and winning the second set, 6-4.
UT's Koprcina won her opening set in a tiebreaker against Alabama's Erin Routliffe, but Routliffe took the second set, 6-4 and ultimately clinched the victory for the Crimson Tide with a 10-4 win over Koprcina in a super-tiebreaker. The remaining matches at second and fifth singles were suspended in the midst of super-tiebreakers.
Texas will take on Texas A&M on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. CT.
