No. 17 Women's Tennis falls to No. 7 Texas A&M, 4-2

Longhorns pick up singles wins from Elizabeth Begley and Neda Koprcina.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – No. 17 Texas (3-4) collected singles wins from senior Elizabeth Begley and freshman Neda Koprcina, but No. 7 Texas A&M (4-2) emerged with a 4-2 win over the Longhorns Sunday in the consolation bracket at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship.
In doubles, UT's Ratnika Batra and Lina Padegimaite defeated the Aggies' Anna Mamalat and Saska Gavrilovska by a 6-2 count at the third position, but A&M claimed the doubles point behind victories at the first and second slots.
The Longhorns' Begley put Texas on the board with a 6-0, 6-1 win over the Aggies' Mamalat at third singles. A&M reclaimed the lead at fifth singles behind Stefania Hristov's 6-4, 6-1 win over UT freshman Pippa Horn.
Texas A&M pushed its lead to 3-1 behind a win at first singles, but UT's Neda Koprcina sliced the deficit to 3-2 with a 6-1, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) win over Ines Deheza at fourth singles.
Texas needed to win the final two matches to claim the team victory, but A&M's Saska Gavrilovska outlasted UT's Batra at second singles, 7-5, 7-5 to clinch the victory.
Texas' Padegimaite took the first set from A&M's Jana McCord at sixth singles and was in a second-set tiebreaker when A&M clinched the win, which resulted in the suspension of Padegimaite's match.
Texas returns to Penick-Allison next weekend and hosts No. 16 Northwestern (Feb. 15) and No. 15 Vanderbilt (Feb. 16).
