AUSTIN, Texas -- Freshman LHP Tiarra Davis threw a one-hitter and the Texas offense exploded for nine runs on 16 hits to defeat Louisiana-Monroe (13-7, 0-0), 9-1, in five innings. Heading into the final day of the Texas Invitational, the Longhorns hold a 12-9 record, having won their last four games, which matches their season-longest win streak.

The Longhorns' final game of the weekend has been changed to an 8:00 a.m. first pitch at Red & Charline McCombs Field against Texas Southern. The game will be nationally televised by the Longhorn Network.

In the circle, Davis hurled a gem against the Warhawks in her five innings of work. The Longhorns' southpaw only allowed two base runners all night— a hit to the first batter she faced and a walk in the second inning. On the night, she struck out four, allowed one earned run, and one walk for her fifth complete game of the season. She is now 3-5 on the season. Combined with her performance on Friday night against Southern Miss, Davis has allowed only two hits in her last 10.0 innings pitched.

The top of the Texas order set the table all night. Seniors Taylor Thom, Brejae Washington and sophomore Lindsey Stephens combined to go 10-for-12 with seven runs scored.

Stephens continued to rake in the Texas Invitational by going 4-for-4 with five RBIs. Through the four games, she has gone 11-for-14 with nine RBIs, six runs scored, three doubles, two triples, and is slugging 1.286.

Recording at least one hit apiece, Stephens and Washington each extended their career-long hitting streaks to 12 games. The 16 hits on the night is a season-high for the Longhorns.

The only time Davis faced a threat was in the first inning when ULM drew first blood and a 1-0 lead.

Texas answered right back in the bottom half of the inning. Washington reached base on a bunt single and Stephens followed by collecting her first hit on the night. A fielding error by the Warhawk right fielder allowed Washington to score and tie the score at one. After a junior Gabby Davis single and sophomore Holly Kern walk, sophomore Erin Shireman hit a bases loaded single to left to extend the lead to 2-1, a lead Texas would not relinquish.

Texas added two more runs in the second inning. With Thom and Washington on second and third with one out, Stephens hit a double to left field.

The Longhorns added three insurance runs in the fourth inning behind a Stephens RBI single and Kern's two-run RBI double to center field for the 7-1 Texas lead.

In the final inning of the night, sophomore Stephanie Ceo led off with a triple to the right-center field gap and Washington reached on a bunt single. Stephens ended the game in walk-off fashion with a triple to left field to enact the run-rule and give the Horns the 9-1 win.
