No. 22 Women's Tennis falls to TCU, 5-2

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU (8-7) defeated No. 22 Texas (5-9) by a 5-2 count Friday afternoon in the conference opener for both teams at TCU's Friedman Tennis Center.
TCU won a tightly-contested doubles session with victories at the second and third positions to assume a 1-0 match lead. UT picked up a win at first doubles from Breaunna Addison and Elizabeth Begley, who dealt TCU's Stefanie Tan and Seda Arantekin an 8-7 tiebreak loss.
TCU stretched its lead to 2-0 behind a win at sixth singles before UT's 89th-ranked Ratnika Batra responded with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Mimi Fotopoulos at third singles to cut the lead to 2-1.
The Longhorns' Addison evened the match with her 6-3, 6-3 win over TCU's 53rd-ranked Tan at first singles. Addison has won five of her last six contests at No. 1 singles against ranked opponents. TCU, however, claimed the remaining three decisions and emerged with the 5-2 win.
Texas continues its Big 12 road swing on Sunday when it visits No. 32 Texas Tech.
