Longhorns lose for the first time in Big 12 Conference play to the 6th-ranked Bears.

WACO, Texas -- No. 7 Texas Men's Tennis (19-4, 3-1 Big 12) lost its first Big 12 Conference match of the season to No. 6 Baylor on Wednesday night at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Baylor took an early 3-0 team lead by winning the doubles point and the first two singles matches. Junior All-American Søren Hess-Olesen picked up a win at No. 1 singles to put the Longhorns on the board, 3-1, before the Bears clinched the team decision with a singles win at the No. 4 position.
At No. 1 singles, Hess-Olesen defeated Baylor's 12th-ranked Patrick Pradella in straight sets (7-6[3], 6-3). Hess-Olesen closed the second set by winning six consecutive games. The 21st-ranked Denmark native improved to 15-2 this spring with his 11th win over nationally ranked opponent.
At No. 5 singles, sophomore Nick Naumann recovered from a first-set loss and defeated BU's Tony Lupieri in three sets (3-6, 7-6[1], 1-0[8]). The Woodlands, Texas native is 4-0 in Big 12 play this season with one match remaining.
Naumann's match was the last match to finish on Wednesday night, making the final score 5-2.
Junior Clement Homs saw a 13-match winning streak come to an end with a 6-3, 6-4 loss to BU's 113th-ranked Michel Dornbusch at the No. 6 position. Homs is now 12-1 in dual match play, including a 10-1 mark at No. 6 singles. His last singles loss was October 27, 2013.
Baylor (21-5, 4-1 Big 12) clinched at least a share of the Big 12 regular season title on Wednesday.
The Longhorns will have a chance to join Baylor atop the Big 12 standings in the regular season finale at Texas Tech on Saturday, April 19 (6 p.m. Central).
