Former wide receiver Mike Davis signed a free-agent contract with the Oakland Raiders on Friday.
A two-time All-Big 12 performer, Davis was one of the most productive wide receivers in school history. He ended his career fourth on the school's all-time receptions list (200), fourth in receiving yards (2,753) and fifth in receiving TDs (18). He is one of only three players in UT history with at least 200 receptions and more than 2,700 receiving yards (also Jordan Shipley and Roy Williams).
Davis played in 49 career games (38 starts) and had more than 100 receiving yards 10 times. He was a three-time member of the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, honoring the top receiver in the nation. He was the team's most valuable offensive player as a junior and senior.
The Dallas, Texas, native, Davis earned second team All-Big 12 honors (San Antonio Express-News, Dallas Morning News) in 2012 after leading the team in receiving yards (939), receiving TDs (seven) and yards per catch (16.5), and finishing second in receptions (57).
As a senior, Davis was a second team All-Big 12 pick (Associated Press, San Antonio Express-News). He led the team in receiving yards (727) and touchdown receptions (eight), and was second in receptions (51).
Davis played in the 2014 Senior Bowl and attended the NFL Combine.
Former Longhorn cornerback Tarell Brown is a member of the Oakland Raiders. He signed with the team in the offseason after spending his first seven years in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers.
