Mandy Ogle signs with NPF’s PA Rebellion

Ogle joins four-year Texas teammate Brejae Washington and four other former Longhorns in NPF league.
WASHINGTON, Pa. – Former Texas Softball catcher Mandy Ogle has signed a two-year contract to play in the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league as a member of the PA Rebellion, the organization announced on Thursday.
As a catcher for the Longhorns from 2011-2014, Ogle recorded 1,244 putouts and only four errors in 1,326 chances from behind the plate in 201 career games. Her .997 career fielding percentage was second-best mark in program history., This past season as a senior, she blasted a career-high seven home runs and did not commit a single error through 53 contests, leading her to All-Big 12 First Team and All-Big 12 Defensive Team honors. ,
Helping Texas to the Women's College World Series in 2013, Ogle threw out a career-high 13 would-be base stealers. During her team's run that year, the San Antonio, Texas native proved to clutch hitter over and over again, as she drove in 17 runs from third base with two outs, helping her to 41 RBIs—the 10th-most in a single season at Texas. For her efforts, she was named to the NFCA's All-Region Second Team.,
Off the field, Ogle displayed commendable diligence and dedication to her work in the classroom, which earned her a spot on the Academic All-Big 12 First Team for three-straight years.
"I had a fantastic four years at The University of Texas and I wasn't ready for this journey to end," Ogle said. "I'm so excited to begin this next chapter of my playing career and I intend to help the PA Rebellion in any way I can. It's going to be great to see many fellow Texas alumni throughout the league, which is always nice to see a familiar face. I'm going to be living out my dream."
Ogle joins her Texas teammate Brejae Washington in the National Pro Fastpitch league. Washington signed a two-year deal with the USSSA Florida Pride last week. The pair of 2014 University of Texas graduates will join four other former Longhorns already playing in the league, including: Cat Osterman (2002-06), Megan Willis (2004-07), Nadia Taylor (2009-12) and Blaire Luna (2010-13).
The NPF consists of five teams, the PA Rebellion, USSSA Florida Pride, Chicago Bandits, NY/NJ Comets and Akron Racers. The Rebellion's 2014 season kicks off May 30 against the Pride.
