Former Longhorn Edward Corrie receives wild card to compete in The Championships’ doubles main draw.

LONDON -- Former Longhorn Edward Corrie (2007-11) has been awarded a wild card to compete in the Wimbledon Gentlemen's doubles main draw with partner Daniel Smethurst. The pair will represent Great Britain at The Championships starting Monday, June 23. Draws will be announced on Friday, June 20.
Corrie and Smethurst are one of five pairs to be awarded a wild card to the 64-pair Wimbledon doubles main draw. Corrie and Smethurst won the doubles draw at the Rimouski event in Canada (March 17) and most recently advanced to the semifinals of the Nottingham 2 challenger in early June.
Corrie also completed in the Wimbledon qualifying singles draw on Monday, June 16, losing to 125th-ranked Samuel Groth (Australia) in the first round.
Corrie was a two-time ITA All-American at The University of Texas, compiling records of 105-57 in singles and 98-45 in doubles. The Harpendon, England native finished all four of his collegiate seasons ranked in both the ITA singles and ITA doubles polls, including three top-10 finishes in doubles.
