COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Freshman Ariel Atkins scored 11 points in USA Basketball's 118-50 win over El Salvador (0-2) on the second day of the U18 FIBA Americas Championship on Thursday evening.
The Americans improve to 2-0 in pool play behind 68 percent shooting from the field and seven players with double-digit scoring efforts.
Team USA faces Canada (2-0) on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Central for first-place in Group A. The winner will be the top seed in semifinal round on Saturday against the No. 2 seed team from Group B (Chile, Argentina, Brazil or Puerto Rico). The medal games are scheduled for Sunday.
