Nneka Enemkpali posts ninth double-double on an otherwise cold shooting night for UT.
NORMAN, Okla. -- No. 4/5 Texas Women's Basketball lost to Oklahoma, 70-59, on Wednesday at the Lloyd Noble Center.
Senior forward Nneka Enemkpali posted game highs of 21 points on 6-of-11 shooting and 16 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season. Enemkpali, the Big 12 rebounding leader, now has 30 career double-doubles and 10 career games with 20 points or more.
But the remaining of the Longhorns shot 11-of-54 from the field for its worst shooting performance of the season -- a 26.2 field goal percentage.
Maddie Manning scored 14 points and Peyton Little added 13 points and 10 rebounds to help Oklahoma (10-5, 4-0) upset the fourth-ranked Longhorns (13-2, 2-2).
Texas led by eight with four minutes left in the first half before Oklahoma rallied for a 31-28 lead at the break. Despite 13 points and 11 rebounds from Enemkpali in the first half alone, the Longhorns trailed at halftime for just the second time this season.
A 3-pointer from junior guard Celina Rodrigo brought the Longhorns within two points with 9:44 remaining in the second half. OU's Gabbi Ortiz countered with a 3-pointer to spur a seven-point run which preserved the Sooners' lead for the remainder of the game.
Texas returns home on Saturday to face Texas Tech at the Erwin Center (12 p.m. Central, Longhorn Network).
