Longhorns lose Nneka Enemkpali to injury in road loss at Baylor.
WACO, Texas -- No. 8 Texas Women's Basketball lost to third-ranked Baylor, 75-58, at the Ferrell Center in Waco Monday night.
Texas (14-3, 3-3 Big 12) was led by freshman guard Brooke McCarty's 14 points on 2-of-2 shooting from 3-point range and 8-of-8 shooting at the free throw line. Sophomore guard Kelsey Lang added 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting with six rebounds.
The Longhorns lost senior leader Nneka Enemkpali after an apparent left knee injury at the 5:44 mark of the first half. Enemkpali co-led the Horns in rebounding with six boards in 12 minutes before the injury. The Big 12 leader in rebounds will undergo further testing in Austin this week.
Texas was held to 33 percent shooting and was out-rebounded as a team for the first time this season, 41-to-37.
The Lady Bears (17-1, 6-0) had three players score in double-digits, including a game-high 25 from Nina Davis.
The Longhorns return to Big 12 action on Sunday for an afternoon matchup against Iowa State in Austin. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Central and will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
