Heard speaks about team confidence
Assistant Coach Jay Norvell Video
QB, Jerrod Heard, Fr.
On balance of run and pass in offense: Weather was a big part of this last one. I got two downfield so I was happy about that, but that ball was really slippery and we didn't want to take any risks, and the run game was really affective. Johnathan Gray played so we stuck with the run.
On confidence level of team: Everyone is very confident within themselves, which is the key thing. You have playmakers that are feeling themselves, and you have to bring them back down a little bit but I have no problem with that.
On not turning the ball over: That is the key. Keep the ball in our hands and drive down the field. In the Big 12 you can't make mistakes. Whoever turns the ball over more is going to lose the game so for us it's been key.
On play of receivers and John Burt: It helps a lot as far as confidence in the passing game. Having a receiver that feels confident enough to go up like that and grab a wet ball makes me feel more confident knowing that I can make plays.
On play of Tyrone Swoopes: He is still right behind me. He is still always in my hear asking me what I see in this play and that. Tyrone is a really smart guy, and he helps me a lot when I am out there. He tells me the keys and what to look out for. I love it when the 18 Wheeler gets out there.
