Texas (13-2) evens the season series against Ohio State (13-6) after falling to the Buckeyes, 4-3, in the ITA Team National Indoor Championship on Feb. 13. UT made their way to an early 1-0 advantage after wins at doubles positions two and three. Juniors Nick Naumann and Michael Riechmann notched their first win over a ranked opponent by defeating 34th-ranked Hunter Callahan and Chris Diaz at No. 3 doubles, 6-2.
Texas then clinched the doubles point after a back-and-forth battle at No. 2 doubles, as Adrien Berkowicz and George Goldhoff defeated Herkko Pollanen and Mikael Torpegaard. Berkowicz and Goldhoff improved to 7-2 in dual match play as a team with the win.
Two-time All-American Søren Hess-Olesen defeated 44th-ranked Chris Diaz, 6-1, 6-3, to continue his dominance at No. 1 singles. The second-ranked Denmark native has won 17 consecutive matches, is 15-1 against ranked opponents, and 15-0 during dual match play this season.
After Ohio State put a point on the board with a win at No. 5 singles, senior Clement Homs dug deep for a straight set win at No. 6 singles over Kevin Metka, 6-4, 7-6. Homs, playing in just his second match of the year after recovering from a knee injury, was down 3-0 in the second set and came back to force a tiebreaker, which he won by a score of 7-4.
Senior Adrien Berkowicz clinched the match for the Longhorns with a straight set win over Hunter Callahan at No. 3 singles, 7-6, 6-3.
