Longhorns sweep weekend Big 12 road trip, host Ohio State next Saturday
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – No. 32 Texas (7-8, 4-2 Big 12) dominated the doubles session and made short work of host West Virginia (9-8, 0-5 Big 12) in singles as the Longhorns posted a convincing 4-0 win Sunday at Ridgeview Racquet Club.
Junior Breaunna Addison and senior Lina Padegimaite teamed up for a 6-1 win over the Mountaineers' Hailey Barrett and Carolina Lewis at first doubles. Texas freshmen Ryann Foster and Danielle Wagland closed out the doubles session with an identical 6-1 win at second doubles over Ikttesh Chahal and Habiba Shaker.
The Mountaineers were no match for the Longhorns in singles. Wagland knocked off WVU's Shaker by a 6-3, 6-4 count at fourth singles, and Foster notched a 6-4, 6-3 win over Barrett at second singles. UT's Addison closed out the match with her 7-5, 6-1 win over Kaja Mrgole at first singles. The remaining matches were suspended.
Texas returns to Austin next Saturday to host Ohio State (noon CT) at Westwood Country Club.
