Women's Tennis falls to No. 7 Baylor, 4-0

Longhorns close out regular season against Kansas State and Kansas next weekend in Austin.
WACO, Texas – Texas (8-10, 4-3 Big 12) suffered a 4-0 defeat to No. 7 Baylor (20-6, 6-1 Big 12) Saturday afternoon at BU's Hurd Tennis Center.
Baylor won doubles contests at the third and first positions to close out the doubles session and take a 1-0 lead. Texas claimed first sets at the first and fifth singles positions and challenged Baylor in the first sets at the remaining four courts. Baylor, however, ultimately closed out first-set wins at the second, third, fourth and sixth positions.
The Bears' Kelley Anderson pushed Baylor's lead to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-4 win over UT freshman Dani Wagland at sixth singles. BU's Kiah Generette extended the Baylor lead to 3-0 with her 7-5, 6-3 win over UT sophomore Neda Koprcina at second singles. The Bears closed out the match at third singles when their 30th-ranked Blair Shankle outlasted UT sophomore Ratnika Batra at third singles, 7-5, 6-4. The remaining matches were suspended.
Texas closes out the regular season next weekend with a pair of matches against Kansas State (April 17) and Kansas (April 19) in Austin. A match against St. Edward's that had been scheduled for April 14 has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.
