TCU won the doubles point and took a 3-0 team lead with singles wins on courts three and five. Hess-Olesen put the Longhorns on the board with his straight-set victory on court one. TCU's Will Stein edged junior Nick Naumann in a second-set tiebreaker on court six, 6-4, 7-6(8), to clinch the match for the Horned Frogs.
When the match was clinched, senior All-American Lloyd Glasspool was playing a second-set tiebreaker on court two, and sophomore George Goldhoff was playing in a third set on court four.
The Longhorns (18-5, 2-3 Big 12) will begin competition in the Big 12 Tennis Championships on Friday, April 24 in Waco, Texas. The Big 12 features four teams ranked in the national top-10.
