AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Men's Tennis defeated UTSA, 4-0, on Tuesday evening at Caswell Tennis Center in the first of back-to-back home matches to conclude non-conference play.
The ninth-ranked Longhorns (17-3) ended the match in a brisk one hour and 53 minutes by securing the doubles point and winning singles matches on courts two, four and six. Senior All-American Lloyd Glasspool provided the match-clinching point with a straight-set win over Yannick Junger, 6-2, 7-5, on singles court two.
"I knew UTSA has a solid team coming in, but we really jumped on them in doubles and that carried over into singles competition," head coach Michael Center said. "Overall it was a good day today. I just keep emphasizing that we need to continue to improve. Today I saw some improvement."
Texas turns around to face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Wednesday at Westwood Country Club (3808 West 35th Street). First serve is scheduled for 5 p.m. Central.
