Baisden named to Academic All-District Team

AUSTIN, Texas – Texas sophomore sprinter Kendall Baisden has been recognized as one of the top student-athletes in the nation in track and field and cross country being named to the Capital One All-Academic Team.
Baisden was named to the team for District 7 for her hard work in the classroom and on the track. She currently holds a 3.82 GPA in supply chain management through the business honors college.
This season she helped win the 4x400 meter relay title at the NCAA Indoor Championships as the Longhorns ran the No. 4 time in collegiate history. Baisden also won the 400 meters at the Big 12 Conference Indoor Championships along with the 4x400 meter relay.
During outdoor season she has continued her success running on the 4x400 relay and finishing fifth in the 200 meters. She also ran on the victorious 4x100 meter relay.
Her efforts helped Texas win both the women's indoor and outdoor conference championships. She earned USTFCCA All-America honors indoors in the 400 meters and the 4x400 meter relay.
Baisden also received Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors this year in addition to earning Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The Capital One All-Academic Teams are voted on by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. By being named to the academic all-district teams, student-athletes are eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America Teams, which will be voted on later this month.
