On the day: I'm obviously very happy to get a win in College Station. The Aggies are a very good team, preseason No. 11. In the morning foursomes, I'm not sure we could have played any better, winning all three matches. That tells me that our team has some great chemistry right now, which is very important in our sport.
On the individuals in afternoon singles: In the afternoon singles, I felt like each of my player played really well. Haley got up big early and never looked back. She played terrific all day.
Tez battled through the match and finished with clutch birdies on 16 and 18 to win, 1up. Julia had to come back from a 2down deficit to win her match. She also birdied the last hole to come out on top.
Natalie battled all through the day to halve with All-American Maddie Szeryk, so that was certainly one of our highlights this afternoon.
Sophia played great all day, making seven birdies in the morning foursomes and 3-4 more in the afternoon singles. Her opponent in the afternoon had an incredibly hot putter, making 6-7 birdies to best Sophia on 17.
Maddie Luitwieler faced off against the reigning individual SEC Champion and they went 17 holes. I simply can't ask my only freshman to do any more than that—she played great all day!
And Anne Hakula notched a win in the morning matches, but fell in the afternoon.
Overall, I'm ecstatic to notch a win here in College Station!
