Members of the 2006 Rose Bowl national championship game also set to be honored at halftime.
After spending much of the spring and summer in training, Bevo XV is ready for his public debut. The young longhorn will be present on the field as the Texas Longhorns host Notre Dame on Sunday, Sept. 4.
Bevo XV's debut corresponds with the 100th anniversary of Bevo's first appearance at a University of Texas football game. Bevo has been a fixture at Texas games since Nov. 30, 1916 -- a Thanksgiving Day 21-7 victory over Texas A&M in Austin.
The unveiling of the newest Bevo, the 15th longhorn to represent The University as the largest live mascot in the nation, highlights a day of energy and excitement as the Fighting Irish make their first appearance in Austin since 1996.
Members of the 2006 Rose Bowl team, which claimed a national championship with a victory against USC, are set to be honored at halftime.
Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. Texas Football Fan Fest returns for a second season and begins at 3:30 p.m, featuring live music and family-friendly entertainment in the Red McCombs Red Zone.
Please stay tuned for additional gameday information, including the announcement of a special national anthem performance.
