PRE-TOURNAMENT COMMENTS
Texas head coach Michael Center
On 23rd-ranked senior George Goldhoff
George is excited about this season. He played very well at the end of last year, and he continues to improve. George sets an example everyday. He comes to the courts, does the little things well and puts in plenty of time in the weight room and with his hitting sessions. He is committed to helping this team be as good as we can be.
On 71st-ranked sophomore Harrison Scott
Harrison came in last year and continued to develop. Physically, he is getting stronger, and his game is becoming more complete and powerful from the back of the court. Harrison has added more variety and can do more things to finish balls at the net. He has put all of that together with a great attitude and work ethic. I'm excited to see him continue to develop this year.
On newcomers Yuya Ito, Christian Sigsgaard and Leonardo Telles
It's nice to see these guys get recognized (in the national newcomer rankings). Yuya and Leo had tremendous results over the summer, and Christian, too. I feel good about them contributing and making a big impact on our team this year.
