Banzer, Telles advance to doubles quarterfinals at ITA National Fall Championships

Texas tandem advances via walkover to Friday’s quarterfinals at Indian Wells.
INDIAN WELLS, Calif. – Texas juniors Rodrigo Banzer and Leonardo Telles moved on to the doubles quarterfinals Thursday at the inaugural ITA National Fall Championships.
The eighth-seeded Texas tandem was scheduled to take on N.C. State's Alexis Galarneau and Michael Ogden in Thursday's round of 16, but the Wolfpack duo pulled out of the draw due to an illness. Banzer and Telles will take on either Florida or Idaho State in Friday's quarterfinals.
Telles was eliminated from the event's consolation singles draw after sustaining a 6-4, 7-6 (1) defeat to Oklahoma's Ferran Calvo. Oregon's 16th-seeded Thomas Laurent eliminated UT junior Harrison Scott from the second round of the main singles draw, 6-2, 6-0.
