The eighth-seeded Texas tandem took on Wisconsin's unseeded duo of Chema Carranza and Josef Dodridge in Saturday's semifinals. Banzer and Telles overpowered the Badgers duo in the first set, 6-2, but Wisconsin rallied and prolonged the match with a 6-3 second-set win.
The match went to a third-set supertiebreaker to decide the match, with the match going to the first team to reach 10 points with a two-point cushion. Texas held match points at 9-7 but Wisconsin evened the match at nine. Wisconsin saved another match point at 10-9, but Texas took the ensuing two points to close out the match.
Banzer and Telles will take on Wake Forest's Petros Chrysochos and Skander Mansouri in Sunday's final (start time TBD).
