Women's Tennis falls to Denver, 4-3

Longhorns start second match against Tulane, will finish in singles on Saturday.
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Texas (2-3) posted three singles wins but suffered a 4-3 defeat to Denver in the opening round of the Blue-Gray Tennis Classic Friday afternoon.
The Pioneers won two of three matches to earn the doubles point and a 1-0 lead. Freshman Bianca Turati, ranked a career-best No. 39 in the ITA singles rankings, notched her second straight win over a ranked opponent and knocked off Denver's 96th-ranked Bianca Mok, 6-2, 6-0 at first singles.
Freshman Anna Turati posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Gracia Mboko at fourth singles and sophomore Katie Poluta added a 6-0, 6-3 win over Arisha Ladhani at sixth singles. But, Denver won at the second, third and fifth slots to hold off the Longhorns, 4-3.
Texas took on Tulane in doubles action Friday and dropped the doubles point to the Green Wave. The match will resume with singles Saturday morning.
