Texas Ex Annette Smith-Knight to be inducted into TABC Hall of Fame

AUSTIN, Texas - Former Texas women's basketball player Annette Smith-Knight on Saturday will be inducted into the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame, Class of 2017, in San Antonio.
Smith-Knight played at UT from 1981-86, finishing her career as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,523 points. She led the Longhorns to the 1986 NCAA Championship.
Smith-Knight was the Southwest Conference Player of the Year in 1983 and 1984, and was the Most Valuable Player of the 1983 Southwest Conference Tournament. In 1984, Smith-Knight was named an All-American by Kodak and the USBWA and was a finalist for the prestigious Wade Trophy.
Smith-Knight started all 131 games she played while at the University of Texas. She is a 2002 inductee into the University of Texas Athletics Women's Hall of Honor and a Class of 2013 inductee into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame.
Prior to coming to the University of Texas, Smith-Knight was a first-team All-State player at Bay City High School in Bay City, Texas.
