John Mee and Leonardo Telles will face off in Sunday’s final, which airs live on ESPN.com.
LAFAYETTE, La. – Texas senior John Mee and UT junior Leonardo Telles reached the final of the main singles draw, and Longhorns junior Colin Markes followed suit in the second singles draw Saturday at the John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic.
Mee and Telles set up a head-to-head meeting in Sunday's main singles draw final with straight-sets wins in Saturday's semifinals. Mee met Texas junior Rodrigo Banzer in the first semifinal and dealt his teammate a 6-1, 6-4 defeat.
Telles took on Georgia State's Andrei Andrukhou in the second semifinal and prevailed, 6-4, 6-4. ESPN subscribers can watch Sunday's all-Longhorn singles final here or on the WatchESPN mobile application beginning at noon Central.
Texas junior Colin Markes reached the finals of singles flight two by way of his 6-4, 6-1 victory over Oklahoma State's Jurence Mendoza. Banzer and Telles notched a pair of doubles wins together to reach the final of the main doubles draw.
"This was a pretty good day for us," said 18th-year UT head coach Michael Center. "Everyone is playing hard and playing well, and we've only lost one match to another school. I'm proud of the effort I've seen here, and I'm excited to watch these guys play for titles tomorrow."
