Senior John Mee continues his strong fall with two more wins in Tulsa.
TULSA, Okla. – Less than a week removed from winning a collegiate singles title, Texas senior John Mee added two wins on day one of pre-qualifying Saturday at the ITA All-American Championships.
Mee, a senior from Highland Park, started off the day with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 win over Arkansas' Alex Reco in round one (round of 256) of pre-qualifying. He added a 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 win in the second round over Virginia's Amma Alhoqbani.
Mee takes on San Diego State's Santiago Cevallos in the third round of pre-qualifying on Sunday (10 a.m. CT). He needs two wins on Sunday to advance to the event's qualifying singles draw.
UT junior Colin Markes posted a three-set win over Omaha's Nathan Reekie in the first round but was eliminated by Oklahoma's Ferran Calvo in round two.
