Men’s Tennis moves to the consolation brackets at the ITA All-American

The Longhorns fell to higher-ranked opponents in four of five matches.
Austin -- Texas Men's Tennis moved to the consolation brackets at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships on Thursday in Tulsa, Okla.
In hard-fought matches, with two tiebreakers and one 7-5 score in the deciding sets, the Longhorns fell to higher-ranked players in four of the five matches they played.
Junior Yuya Ito took No. 22 Jan Zielinski of Georgia to a third-set tiebreaker before falling (2-6, 6-4, 7-6 [3]). Junior Christian Sigsgaard fell to No. 48 Axel Geller of Stanford (6-2, 7-5), senior Harrison Scott was defeated by Kody Pearson of Tulsa (6-4, 6-1), and senior Rodrigo Banzer also went to a third-set tiebreaker before falling to No. 58 Kyle Seelig of Ohio State (4-6, 6-0, 7-6 [5]). In the doubles match, Scott and SIgsgaard were defeated by No. 29 Martin Joyce and Hunter Tubert of Ohio State.
The Longhorns will now play in the consolation brackets of the tournament.
