- The No. 11/8 Texas women's basketball team looks to improve to 3-0 on the season when it plays host to McNeese State on Thursday evening. Tip-off in the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 7 p.m. CT and the game will be televised nationally by Longhorn Network.
- The Series: Texas and McNeese State meet for the seventh time in the history of the two programs with the Longhorns leading the all-time series 6-0. The two squads met last season - a 100-34 victory by Texas on November 15, 2017. The Longhorns are 51-9 [.850] all-time against members in the current alignment of the Southland Conference.
- The 1,000-Point Club: Lashann Higgs, who has played in 105 career games for the Longhorns, on Monday became the 44th member of the Texas 1,000-point club. She now has 1,004 career points. Higgs will be presented with a commemorative ball prior to Thursday's game.
- 20/20 Vision: Higgs has scored 20 points in each of the Longhorns' first two games, giving her six 20-point performances in her career. She is currently averaging 20.0 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game and 3.0 steals per game entering Thursday's contest.
- Double-Double Trouble: Senior center Jatarie White has notched a double-double in each of her first two games this season, totaling 10 points and 10 rebounds against Duquesne and 11 points and 11 rebounds at North Texas. She now has six career double-doubles. White, who led the Longhorns with 207 total rebounds last season, currently leads her team with 10.5 rebounds per game.
- On The Boards: Texas totaled 61 rebounds in the win at North Texas on Monday night, which tied for the eighth-most rebounds in a single game in program history. The Longhorns hold a +20.0 edge on the boards this season. Dating back to the start of the 2015-16 season, Texas has won the rebound battle in 91 of the last 107 games overall, including both contests this season.
