- The No. 10/9 Texas women's basketball team will play for the championship of the Gulf Coast Showcase on Sunday when it faces Atlantic 10 Conference member Fordham. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m. CT at Hertz Arena in Estero, Fla. Fordham has earned victories against Ball State [78-70] and Washington [65-57] while at the Gulf Coast Showcase. The Longhorns have defeated Quinnipiac [56-55] and Michigan [69-52]. Texas is 5-0 for the fifth time in the last seven years.
- The Series: Texas and Fordham will meet for the third time in the history of the two programs with UT leading the series 2-0. The Longhorns and Rams played a home-and-home series in 1998 and 1999. The last meeting was an 83-57 victory by the Longhorns on December 16, 1999 in the Bronx. Fordham is the second Atlantic 10 Conference team Texas has faced this season after defeating Duquesne in the season opener. The Longhorns are 8-1 [.889] all-time against teams in the current alignment of the Atlantic 10.
- Texas 69, Michigan 52: Junior point guard Sug Sutton flirted with a triple-double, senior center Jatarie White contributed 16 points and seven rebounds, and freshman guard/forward Audrey Warren had a career day Saturday as the No. 10/9 Texas women's basketball team defeated Michigan, 69-52, to advance the Longhorns to the championship game of the Gulf Coast Showcase.
- Texas 56, Quinnipiac 55: Texas juniors Sug Sutton and Jada Underwood combined for 19 points, 20 rebounds and 11 assists Friday as the No. 10/9 Longhorns erased a 15-point deficit to defeat Quinnipiac, 56-55. Freshman Audrey Warren made the game-winning jumper with 47 seconds left.
- On The Boards: Texas has held or tied for the rebound edge in each of its five games this season and ranks 15th nationally in rebound margin at +11.6. The Longhorns are bringing down an average of 47.8 boards per game. Dating back to the start of the 2015-16 season, Texas has won or tied for the battle of the boards in 94 of the last 110 games overall.
- Up Next: Texas will play host to UTSA on Wednesday for the eighth-annual 40 Acres Field Trip. Tip-off in the Frank Erwin Center is slated for 11 a.m. CT and the game will be televised by LHN.
