Karen Aston selected for induction into Little Rock Athletics Hall of Fame

Aston is a 1987 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Texas head women's basketball coach Karen Aston has been selected for induction into the Trojan Athletics Hall of Fame, class of 2019, at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, it was announced Monday.
Aston, a 1987 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, is one of five inductees in 2019, joining Bill Ballard (Men's Basketball/Administrator), Mike Morrison (Men's Golf), Chastity Reed (Women's Basketball) and Sara Wikstrom (Women's Golf). Little Rock will hold an induction ceremony for the five honorees on Friday, February 1.
Aston played two seasons for Little Rock after transferring from Ouachita Baptist. She led her team in scoring and field-goals made in 1985-86.
Aston, the 2017 Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year, is entering her seventh season as the head coach at the University of Texas. She began her coaching career at the high school level, as the head coach at Vilonia [Ark.] and Fort Smith Northside [Ark.]. Aston worked as an assistant coach at Baylor, North Texas and spent eight years as an assistant and associate head coach under legendary head coach Jody Conradt at the University of Texas.
Aston has an 142-62 (.696) in her six years leading the Longhorns. She is the school's second winningest coach all-time, behind Conradt's 783 victories. Aston is 243-125 (.660) in 11 seasons as a collegiate head coach, including head coaching jobs at Charlotte and North Texas.
