Austin-based electro-dance rock pioneers joined by acclaimed artist Mobley to close concert series on LBJ Lawn prior to Texas-Iowa State game.
AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Athletics is proud to announce Ghostland Observatory as the headliner of Longhorn City Limits, taking place prior to Texas Football's home finale vs. Iowa State on Saturday, Nov. 17. Comprised of Austin-based natives Aaron Behrens and Thomas Ross Turner, Ghostland Observatory have wowed audiences with their live performances since forming in 2003. The duo has released five albums to date including their latest effort "See You Later, Simulator" in September 2018.
"See You Later, Simulator" marks the duo's first full-length album since 2010's critically acclaimed "Codename: Rondo."
"It's familiar enough for our old school fans to be like, 'Aww yeah, they're back. They're doing their thing,' but it's also giving this new taste and keeping the story going. Chapter two. We're turning the page," Behrens told the Austin American-Statesman earlier this year.
Joining Ghostland Observatory on the lineup is Austin songwriter/producer/multimedia artist Mobley. In addition to vocals, Mobley is known to play guitar, keys, a sample, and additional instruments in his live shows. He is currently touring behind his latest LP "Fresh Lies, Vol. 1", a collection of 10 tracks that he plans to add to over time. Mobley is heading out on tour in 2019 which coincides with new music to captivate his growing fan base.
"Ghostland Observatory is the perfect fit to headline our final Longhorn City Limits concert this season," said Executive Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs Drew Martin. "Fans can look forward to an incredible audio and visual experience at night on the LBJ Lawn. I'm so excited to see the energy they can give to the crowd before our game versus the Cyclones."
With the brand new gameday concert series Longhorn City Limits, Texas Football gamedays have become the center of the "Live Music Capital of the World." Longhorn City Limits takes place at every home game on the LBJ Lawn outside the northeast corner of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. All concerts are FREE admission and open to the public.
