The Longhorns were held scoreless for a 3:05 stretch as Baylor built an early seven point (11-4) advantage with 10:53 remaining. UT utilized a 12-0 run to take its first lead (18-15) of the contest with 4:46 to play in the opening half. The Bears regained the lead after back-to-back threes gave Baylor a 23-20 cushion at the 2:21 mark. Coleman connected on a jumper with 57 seconds left, and Texas headed to the break trailing by three (25-22).
Coleman paced the Longhorns in the opening 20 minutes with six points, while Bamba added four points and brought down eight boards in 15 minutes. Texas turned the Bears over seven times and converted them into nine points.
The Longhorns trailed 31-27 after a putback from Osetkowski at the 14:46 mark in the second half. Terry Maston recorded eight straight points as Baylor built a 37-29 lead with 12:40 to play. Coleman hit two free throws with 12 seconds after being fouled while driving in the lane to even the contest at 56-56. Baylor missed a shot at the buzzer to send the contest into overtime.
A 2:35 scoring drought for the Longhorns allowed Baylor to build a four-point advantage with 1:15 to play in the extra period. Bamba connected twice at the charity stripe, but Manu Lecomte knocked down a jumper on the opposite end for Baylor as the shot clock expired. A pair of Coleman free throws trimmed the deficit to 64-62, and the Texas defense forced a shot clock violation on the next Baylor possession with seven seconds remaining. Roach II tied up the contest at the charity stripe with two free throws, and the Bears again missed a shot at the buzzer as the contest headed to double overtime.
A Davis Jr. corner three at the 1:52 mark put the Longhorns on top, 71-70, but Baylor answered with a jumper on its next possession. Texas forced another shot-clock violation with 28 seconds to go, leading to a Roach basket with 20 seconds left to give UT a 73-72 lead. A Baylor putback dunk by Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. with six seconds proved to be the game winner as Texas fell, 74-73.
The Longhorns head to Norman, Oklahoma to face No. 23/23 Oklahoma on Saturday, Feb. 17. Tip is set for 11 a.m. Central at the Lloyd Noble Center, and the game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

POSTGAME QUOTES
TEXAS
Head Coach Shaka Smart
On the team's performance plateauing over the last few games: The bottom line is we came up short. You have to give our opponents credit. You take it game by game in terms of what we could have done better. Tonight, on the offensive end, we got off to a slow start, in both the first and second half. When we got our guys attacking midway through the second half, we were able to get downhill and get some good open looks. Give our guys credit for making the free throws that they made, especially during clutch situations. Obviously, the two misses from Eric [Davis Jr.] hurt, but we'll take going 18-22 from the free throw line. Defensively, we struggled on Saturday against TCU. We didn't have the same toughness and fight and TCU had a lot to do with that with the way they shot the ball. Tonight, I thought our first-half defense was really good. We just didn't do a good job with Terry Maston. He had a phenomenal game. A couple of those baskets were a result of trying to take away [Manu] Lecomte, but you have to take away both. Then there were a couple of situations at the end of the game when we couldn't get a stop. During the Kansas State game, we didn't come out with the energy we needed to have. We've played a few games now in the course of five or six days and sometimes one game can affect the next. As players and coaches, you try to make sure that doesn't happen. We have a lot of guys that are trying to figure it out. D.O. [Dylan Osetkowski] and Snoop [Kerwin Roach II] were much better tonight than they were the last couple of games. Snoop really battled and fought. That's the Snoop that's been a really good player earlier this year. You mentioned plateauing. I think the team can still get better. This league is very unforgiving. Nobody is going to feel sorry for you. Baylor came in here on a three-game win streak and they were aggressive. Their players made big plays down the stretch. They just made one more play than us.
On the speaking to the team after the game: Our guys always listen after the game and look you in the eye. They're really, really upset and some of those guys are really angry, because it was a game that they really put their egos aside and really came together in terms of attacking and hanging in there together. But obviously, we came up one stop short or one basket short depending on how you're looking at it. The guys are really upset.
On Texas' shooting starting the game and the second half: It's hard. It makes it tough. With that being said, particularly in the first half, they didn't let it get them down at all. There's some good looks that we didn't make. I thought that we got the ball inside. That happened for the majority of the game, but [Jo] Lual-Acuil [Jr.] is a good player, a good defender. A slow start makes it tough, but our guys battled, forced overtime and took a lead. When we had the lead, we just were unable to stop them.
BAYLOR
Head Coach Scott Drew
Opening Statement: Well first and foremost, I've been on the other side of a game like this. My hat goes off to Texas, because I know they played extremely hard. They really battled and made some huge free throws. It was a great game for TV. It's just another Big 12 game and sometimes you get one more possession, so they're a heck of a team. We're very blessed to get the win. As far as our guys, really proud of how they were able to keep battling and keep fighting. We had to deal with some foul trouble, and we had different people step up tonight.
On Lual-Acuil's reaction to Bamba: You have two great competitors. It's not often you see other 7-footers. So when you see someone with that size and might and talent, you are excited to play. I thought after he (Lual-Acuil) subbed out the first time, he really calmed down and did a great job. He led the team all game long. Even when he took a bad shot or turned it over, he was the first one to say "my bad guys, I'll get it right." So just really proud of his leadership and I thought after the 2-for-7 start he really calmed down and was much more efficient.
Senior Forward Jo Lual-Acuil Jr.
On Bamba: He's a great player, but I'm fired up to play every game. We are 5-7 in conference and our goal is to be over .500 and win as many games as we can to make the tournament. Well now we are 6-7, but the biggest thing for us is trying to string together as many wins as we can. He is a great player. He's a competitor. As a basketball player playing at the highest level, I think everyone is motivated to win.
On winning a big game like this: It was great. The team is really staying together and everybody is feeding off each other. It really takes a great team to win on the road in double overtime like we did, especially off an offensive rebound. It just shows how much toughness we have and grit. I'm just proud of the team.
Senior Forward Terry Maston
On this win over Texas: I think we are really turning it around in conference after the first half. We are just clicking right now on offense and defense. Our zone has been really tough and Manu [Lecomte] is really leading us. He's hitting big shots. Jo [Lual-Acuil Jr.] is getting big rebounds. Everybody is just really playing well. I think that is what is helping us the most.
