Six Longhorns participated in the NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
Six Texas Longhorns wrapped up participation in the 2018 NFL Combine on Monday in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium. P Michael Dickson, S DeShon Elliott, CB Holton Hill, LB Malik Jefferson, RB Chris Warren III and OL Connor Williams all participated in interviews, meetings, medical tests, drills and on-field skill showcases throughout the course of the six-day event.
Connor Williams impressed on day one, as his vertical jump (34.0") was best among offensive linemen, while his broad jump (9.4") was fifth as was his 40-yard dash (5.05). He also showed off impressive strength numbers with 26 reps on the bench press. While Michael Dickson didn't complete any of the speed or strength drills, similar to most specialists at the combine, he did have the chance to punt in front of NFL Scouts on the field. Chris Warren III finished out day one for the Longhorns, as his 25 reps on the bench press were the third-most among running backs.
Malik Jefferson was impressive throughout, running a 4.52 in the 40-yard dash, third-best among linebackers. His 27 reps on the bench press were the second-most among LBs, while his broad jump (10.5") and vertical jump (36.0") were also extremely impressive. On the final day of the combine, both DeShon Elliott and Holton Hill were among the defensive back participants. Elliott ranked among the top 15 safeties in vertical jump, broad jump, bench press and the 40-yard dash. Hill ran a 4.49 in the 40-yard dash, did 14 reps on the bench press and showed off strong numbers in both his jumps and agility drills.
The six Longhorns will join a myriad of other NFL hopefuls at Texas' NFL Pro Day in March.
