Baseball's McKenzie named to Google Cloud Academic All-District team

Academic All-District honorees are recognized for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
AUSTIN, Texas—Senior first baseman Jake McKenzie has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, CoSIDA announced this week. The team recognizes student-athletes for their performances both on the field and in the classroom.
McKenzie, who holds a 3.95 GPA in petroleum engineering has played in 39 games with 30 starts for the Longhorns this season, adding three doubles and 11 RBI on the year while playing stellar defense, primarily at first base. He received the inaugural Sean Braswell Academic MVP for the Longhorns last season and has been awarded the Big 12's Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, the Lorene L. Rogers Scholar-Athlete Award, and the Marvin Wright Student Athlete Award from the Cockrell School of Engineering.
